Dr. Kimon Valavanis Lord of the University of Denver, USA, will chair the Conference of Robotics. Dr. Valavanis is currently Professor and Chairman, Department of Electronics and Computer Engineering, as chairman of the Department of Computer Science, and Director of the Laboratory of the University of Denver, unmanned systems, which he founded. There is also a visiting professor at the School of Electrical and Computer Engineering, Department of Telecommunications at the University of Zagreb, Croatia.

The interest of Dr. Valavanis of research in the areas of unmanned systems, distributed systems, intelligence, robotics and automation, which is very widespread. His co-author of the projects include intelligent robotics: theory, design and applications, control problems in robotics and automation, Intelligent Manufacturing Systems. Programming and control, control, and more recently, linear and nonlinear small unmanned helicopter

IASTED Robotics Conference with representatives from over 30 countries, researchers in a wide range of disciplines. These can be included, but is not limited to artificial intelligence, robotics, biomimetic, computer vision, distributed sensors, hybrid control of robot manipulators, the modeling of micro-robotics, motion planning, robotics, multimedia, robot design, simulation and prototyping, and generation of sensor networks.

The applications of these disciplines include aerospace, agriculture, automotive, biomechanics, design of bioscience and industrial automation, remote education, energy, flight simulators, health and rehabilitation, medical robots, personal robots , satellite navigation and surgery, and unmanned aircraft and under water.

The speakers and topics for the conference in June 2011 not decided yet, but usually world-renowned experts in their field. The latest robotics conference in early November 2010 had as keynote speaker, Pierre E. Dupont, a visiting professor at Harvard Medical School and director of Pediatric Cardiac Bioengineering, Children’s Hospital Boston, USA, who spoke on robotic technology for minimally invasive surgery.
